Christopher Evans

Founder & Creative Director, Applegarth Greenhouse & Apothecary

Christopher Evans is a master horticulturist, esoteric educator, and visionary creator whose life’s work is dedicated to cultivating harmony between nature, beauty, and the human spirit. As the founder and creative director of Applegarth Greenhouse & Apothecary in Soda Springs, Idaho, Christopher has built more than just a business—he has established a living sanctuary where regenerative horticulture, energetic medicine, and sacred wisdom converge.

With over 30 years of hands-on experience in organic agriculture, nursery and greenhouse management, desert-adapted landscape design, floriculture, and sustainable construction, Christopher draws from a broad foundation of expertise. His professional history includes the transformation of off-grid ranches into thriving ecosystems, the design of Zen-inspired spiritual centers, and the implementation of restorative land practices across the Mountain West. Fluent in both plant language and spiritual symbolism, he brings a rare synthesis of the practical and the mystical to every endeavor.

At the heart of Applegarth is the Alchemical Apothecary—a uniquely integrative offering where herbal craftsmanship meets metaphysical intention. Here, Christopher formulates small-batch tinctures, salves, bath soaks, smoke blends, and energetic preparations, each crafted with botanical precision and spiritual purpose. Drawing from Hermetic philosophy, plant energetics, and vibrational healing, he merges traditional Western herbalism with the subtle forces of gemstones, sacred resins, and color rays. Through his pioneering system known as Color Alchemy, Christopher has developed a codified spectrum of spiritual correspondences that maps gemstones, hues, and states of consciousness into usable tools for healing, awakening, and daily practice.

Christopher also curates an expanding collection of energy tools and talismans—such as the Cathexis Coteries™, Gem Lavallieres™, and Gemstone Compendulums™—each designed to amplify specific intentions through the synergistic power of natural stones and sacred geometry. His gemstone work is not simply aesthetic; it is a tactile philosophy, inviting practitioners to engage directly with the Subjective, Objective, and Unconscious layers of reality through consciously chosen mineral allies.

Beyond the apothecary, Christopher leads the educational and spiritual vision of Applegarth, offering in-person workshops, immersive classes, garden tours, and video teachings. His curriculum spans a wide spectrum of subjects, including cold-climate gardening, alchemical herbology, esoteric traditions, plant spirit communication, sacred space creation, and Kabbalistic correspondences. Each program is designed to empower individuals to cultivate not only physical gardens, but also inner landscapes of meaning and purpose.

Further extending the mission of Applegarth, Christopher serves as the founder and director of Bryogrow™, a specialized division focused on the design and maintenance of bioactive vivariums and microclimates. Through this project, he cultivates rare mosses, liverworts, ferns, and carnivorous plants, crafting immersive miniature ecosystems for amphibians and sensitive invertebrates. These terrariums are not only habitat-focused—they are expressions of sacred ecology, combining scientific rigor with aesthetic devotion. Each vivarium is a living altar of biodiversity, engineered with ethical foraging practices, native species integration, and layered substrate systems to mimic nature’s intelligence on a small scale.

Whether restoring fragile landscapes, developing spiritually attuned herbal formulas, or building worlds in glass for endangered life forms, Christopher approaches his work as a sacred craft. He is energized by complexity, guided by beauty, and committed to awakening harmony between the human soul and the soul of the Earth. Through Applegarth Greenhouse & Apothecary, he continues to offer a powerful vision of integrated healing—where horticulture, alchemy, and consciousness are united in the service of personal and planetary renewal.
